Bags of Help is Tesco’s exciting local community grant scheme where the money raised by the sale of carrier bags is being used to fund thousands of local projects in communities right across the UK. Administration of the local funding is being managed by the community charity with a green heart, Groundwork, which specialises in transforming communities and the local environment for the better.

Waldershelf Singers will be one of 3 local projects hoping to win the highest vote between May 1st and June 30th. As a community choir based in Stocksbridge we rely on local support and help with fundraising. In return we perform and entertain local communities with our music which covers a wide range of styles, from spiritual, classical to popular show music.

Our most ambitious project to date will be a performance of Karl Jenkins’ THE ARMED MAN – A MASS FOR PEACE on Saturday October 27th at Sheffield Cathedral. We will be joined by Stannington Brass Band – Yorkshire Champions in 2016 and guest choristers from Vivacity Choir.

Any money granted will be used to purchase music, uniforms and cover transport costs and hire of the venue, enabling us to put on the best concert possible.

Voting goes live at Chapeltown and Penistone Tesco stores between:
1st MAY and 30th JUNE 2018.

Please support us by asking for a blue token at the checkout every time you shop, and placing it in the Waldershelf Singers slot.

Thank you
