SATURDAY 27th APRIL at 7pm

Don’t miss our April Concert when we will be performing Vivaldi’s popular sacred composition ‘Gloria’. Soprano Emily Atkinson and Countertenor Adam Piplica will be joining us, along with a chamber orchestra of string, woodwind and brass (leader Catherine Pugh). Our Music Director is Rachel Atkinson.

‘Gloria’ is a joyful hymn of praise and worship divided into 12 movements ranging from festive brilliance to profound sadness, performed as solos, duets and four-part harmony.

The concert programme will also include pieces from Mozart’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, and Bruckner. There will be the premiere performance of a piece of music specially written for the choir by local musician Joseph Shaw. The Choir will also sing the beautiful spring song “All in the April Evening” composed by Hugh Roberton for the Glasgow Orpheus Choir in 1911. Soloists Emily and Adam will also entertain us
