What a night! We had a fantastic evening singing with Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir conducted by the brilliant Dan Timmins and our own equally brilliant Rachel Atkinson. Thanks also to accompanists Julie and Kim. Each choir sang a selection of songs from their varied repertoires, and joined together to complete the first half with ‘Benedictus’ by Karl Jenkins, beautifully accompanied by Imogen on the viola. Chris, Waldershelf’s own poet, recited a poem she composed referencing the Miners Strike from 40 years ago (in full costume including safety lamp) to follow Waldershelf’s performance of ‘The Working Man’.

The concert finished with both choirs singing Faure’s ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’, followed by ‘At the End of the Day’ and ‘Do You Hear the People Sing’ from Les Miserables.

The hall was packed, and we had a very successful raffle raising £211 for local charity Valley Music Festival to support their work amongst local school groups and families, developing talent and the love of participating with music

Here are pictures taken on the night and published here with the kind permission of Isobel and Imogen
